Convo with Pastor - 1 Samuel 16:7

But the Lord said to Samuel,
"Do not look on his appearance
or on the height of his stature,
because I have rejected him;
for the Lord does not see as mortals see;
they look on the outward appearance,
but the Lord looks on the heart."
1 Samuel 16:7

It was time for a new king.

If you remember, Saul was chosen because he was the tallest, handsomest man in all the land (1 Samuel 9:2). He would look good at all the photo ops and in all press clippings.

That sounds so superficial, but we do it still today. Image is everything. That's the oh-too-frequent motto of our culture.

God has a different measure. "The Lord looks on the heart."

Who do you know that's beautiful from inside out?

And how would people describe you if they could only see your interior instead of your exterior?

In Christ's Love,
a guy who'd rather show you his kidney
than some corners of his heart
(God, continue to heal me!)

"The Lord looks on the heart."

There is a guy named Rick Guidotti who gave up an amazing career as a high fashion photographer to photograph people the world deems as different. strange. ugly. weird.  The world looks only at their outside, but Rick sees their beauty.  As beautiful as Rick sees these people, God sees infinitely more beauty in them.  To see some of Rick's photos, click here to go to positive exposure - his website featuring his mission and many photos.

If you click here about the first decade of Positive Exposure, you will see an adorable little boy that stole my heart!!

The Lord loos on the heart.  We need more Rick's in this world.
