Knowing God - Isaiah 63:1

(fp)

Who is this so splendidly robed,
marching in his great might?"
"It is I, announcing vindication,
mighty to save."
Isaiah 63:1

I woke up this morning, singing the song "Mighty to Save."

Actually, that's not quite true. Someone in my dream was singing "Mighty to Save."

Me? I was dreaming about super heroes. (I guess I'm still a kid at heart.) The super heroes saved a stadium full of people, and the band showed up, singing, "Mighty to Save."

How frequently do we look to governments, a pay check, or something-that-advertises-itself-as-super to save us? There is only One who is mighty to save. The rest are just fickle comforters and counterfeits.

In Christ's Love
a guy who doesn't own tights
and therefore isn't super

I love waking up singing a song.  Especially one like "Mighty to Save." It sets the tone for the day.  I love the lyrics of the song, so here ya go:
"Mighty to Save"
(Hillsong)

Everyone needs compassion,
Love that's never failing;
Let mercy fall on me.

Everyone needs forgiveness,
The kindness of a Saviour;
The Hope of nations.

Saviour, He can move the mountains,
My God is Mighty to save,
He is Mighty to save.

Forever, Author of salvation,
He rose and conquered the grave,
Jesus conquered the grave.

So take me as You find me,
All my fears and failures,
Fill my life again.

I give my life to follow
Everything I believe in,
Now I surrender.

My Saviour, He can move the mountains,
My God is Mighty to save,
He is Mighty to save.
Forever, Author of salvation,
He rose and conquered the grave,
Jesus conquered the grave.

Shine your light and let the whole world see,
We're singing for the glory of the risen King...Jesus (x2)

My Saviour, He can move the mountains,
My God is Mighty to save,
He is Mighty to save.
Forever, Author of salvation,
He rose and conquered the grave,
Jesus conquered the grave.

My Saviour, you can move the mountains,
You are mighty to save,
You are mighty to save.
Forever, Author of Salvation,
You rose and conquered the grave,
Yes you conquered the grave
