Knowing God - Matthew 10:7

(fp)

Your Name is MAJESTY
Father God, help me see your hand as your kingdom comes closer
and becomes more real and alive in me today.
Open my eyes to where your kingdom is breaking into my world.

As you go, proclaim the good news,
'The kingdom of heaven has come near.'
Matthew 10:7

It is in the prophetic book of Daniel that scripture begins to talk about the Kingdom of Heaven:
And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed... It shall crush all these [other] kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever; (Dan 2:44)
Two key terms begin to define this kingdom: kings and battles. It is all of the world's earthly kings against the one true King, God the Father Almighty. And it is a battle -- the earthly kingdoms will be crushed, while God's Kingdom shall stand forever.

Jesus' very first sermon -- Matthew 3:2 -- revealed that "the kingdom of heaven has come near."

Victory, hope, light, and joy have broken into our broken world.

The victory celebration is not totally accomplished yet -- we have to wait for the second coming for that -- but day by day, you and I can catch glimpses of the grace.

Pray today that God's kingdom comes more real and alive in you today. And "as you go," heed Jesus' call to all of his disciples (including you and me) and "proclaim the good news [that] 'The kingdom of heaven has come near."

In Christ's Love,
a guy who wants to be near-sighted
(I want to see the kingdom near and nearer)
-------------------------------
How do you do that? How do you proclaim that the kingdom of heaven is near when it feels so very far away ... almost a figment of your imagination.
