The Final Summit by Andy Andrews
I have never read anything by Andy Andrews before and was skeptical about this book. This is the story of a man named David Ponder and his 'travels' He is called to lead a summit of all the great minds of history to help save humanity.
Some of the references to heaven are disturbing. And the Gabriel, the archangel, behaves is not consistent with scripture. Once, a character warns Ponder to not call Gabriel an angel. He doesn't appreciate the demotion in status. Angels and archangels were created to worship God. Not get annoyed at a misnomer.
There are 7 attempts to get the right answer and seven good answers are given, but only one is accurate. These are answers that anyone can come up with and use in any situation. Not necessarily a faith based response or one based on scripture. In fact, there was a true lacking of scripture in this story.
If this is designed to be the next fad in the business training to go with 'Who Moved my Cheese' and the like then it will fit in there.
I don't know who I would recommend this book to. Maybe someone looking for a book for their book to read to enhance leadership skills, but there are other, better ones out there for that. Or someone who wants to read the sequel to the Traveler.
I received a copy of this book from Booksneeze to review.
