Job 11:1-14:22
Now Zophar chimes in...He starts off by reminding Job that he isn't as blameless and perfect as he thinks he is. 11:7 'Can you fathom the mysteries of God? Can you probe the limits of the Almighty?' He then encourages Job to look to God to rely on Him. God is still there and still cares.
Job is still full of cynicism. I am very guilty of cynicism. Then Job begins a litany of things God does to bring people down. When we are angry, furious, at God, aren't we guilty of focusing on the negative things the power of God can and does do? And challenging God as Job does? He is asking God to list his sins, tell him what he did wrong. Why he so inferior.
We are so like Job. The worse a situation is, the more we blame God, wallow in our own self pity and wish God would just leave us be and let us die because he did no good anyway. At least we know better.
