Deuteronomy 3:12 - 5:33
Moses begged to go to the promise land, but God stood his ground and said no. But he let Moses see with his own eyes. God was consistent, but loving.
4:2 Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the LORD your God that I give you.
A verse we would do well to memorize ... so often we add to or subtract from what God has told us. The first sin in the garden of Eden was Eve adding to what God commanded her. Many of the legalisms today are from 'religious leaders' doing just this.
Idolatry - 4:15 You saw no form of any kind the day the LORD spoke to you ... out of the fire. Therefore watch yourselves very carefully ...
The LORD Your God - 4:35You were shown these things so that you might know that the LORD is God; besides him there is no other.
5:32-33 So be careful to do what the LORD your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. Walk in all the way that the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.
