Knowing God - 1 Samuel 14:6

(from Pastor)

Nothing can hinder the Lord from saving,
whether by many or by few
1 Samuel 14:6

Jonathan -- the son of King Saul -- had a powerful faith. In the midst of Israel's battles with the Philistines, Jonathan single-handedly raided the Philistine garrison.

Actually, that's not quite true. It was just Jonathan and his armor-bearer who marched into battle together. Two against a slew.

And actually, that's still not true. It was Jonathan, his armor-bearer, and God! Proving the statement that "me and God are always an overwhelming majority," Jonathan engaged the Philistines with this motto, "Nothing can hinder the Lord from saving, whether by many or by few."

Now, in the end, it wasn't just Jonathan who fought the Philistines. His faith and boldness actually inspired the entire Israelite army. They rushed into battle alongside Jonathan. Jonathan didn't need the others, of course. He had God on his side. But the others needed Jonathan. Why? Because they needed the kind of faith that depended so surely on God.

How might God want to use your faith and boldness to inspire others to engage in kingdom conquests?

In Christ's Love,
a guy who wants to be the kind of conquistador
that others follow into kingdom conquests

Today, I have nothing.
