Joshua 10:1 - 12:24

Joshua was fighting in unfamiliar territory - it was all unfamiliar - he asked the sun and moon to stand still so they could keep fighting.  And it did! (Actually the earth stood still - for almost a full day longer) The only time this has happened.

There was a long time of warring and then when all the cities were captured, the land was "at rest from war."  Just as God had promised - the Israelites took over the land.
