The Danites were without a place to settle, so they asked Micah's priest who told them they were approved by the Lord.  They stole Micah's idols and used them while living in the land.

The anger of God burned frequently against Israel due to their disobedience.  There would be a king and a period of peace then more battles. then more peace.
