Deuteronomy 29:1 - 31:29

29:4 But to this day the LORD has not given you a mind that understands or eyes that see or ears that hear.

...and he still hasn't, I believe.  The more I learn, the less I know...

God then goes on to remind the Israelites that during 40 years in the desert, their clothes never wore out, they never went hungry, they had fresh water to drink, their enemies were defeated ... all because the Lord their God was with them.

30:9-10 ... The LORD will again delight in you and make you prosperous, just as he delighted in your fathers, if you obey the LORD your God and keep his commands and decrees that are written in this Book of the Law and turn to the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

"All" your heart and "All" your soul.  Easier said than done.  We tend to want to keep a piece of it to ourselves.  Just in case.

30:14,16 No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it. ... For I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the LORD your God will bless you ...

31:6, 8  Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. ... The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
