Knowing God - John 17:3

Now this is eternal life ...

John 17:3

 

Death.

 

That’s how I’m normally tempted to answer this question.

 

Think about it. If someone ask you "what is eternal life?" what would you normally and naturally say? I’d normally and naturally say, "Eternal life is dying and going to heaven."

 

In today’s lesson, Jesus gives us a less painful way to achieve eternal life. In a prayer to his Father, he says, "Now this is eternal life, that they may know you."

 

Life – TRUE LIFE with capital letters – is simply knowing God ... and it can start right now.
