Numbers 25:1 - 26:34; 1 Chronicles 7:14-19; Numbers 26:35-37; 1 Chronicles 7:20-29; Numbers 26:38-65

The Israelites began sleeping with the enemy and ticked off God again.  One even had the audacity to bring a Midianite woman into his tent with his family.  The man and Midianite woman were killed.  I am certain his wife was secretly rejoicing.  It seems that whenever the Israelites are still for the littlest amount of time, they get themselves into trouble.  When they are moving, they are more focused on God.

Another census.  And it ends with this:

26:64-65 - Not one of them was among those counted by Moses and Aaron the priest when they counted the Israelites in the Desert of Sinai. For the LORD had told those Israelites they would surely die in the desert, and not one of them was left except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.

God remembered how the Israelites behaved and what he promised them.
